Chen G. Schimmel is a London-born photojournalist who made Aliyah to Israel at 18. At 25, she gained recognition for her coverage of the October 7th tragedy as a staff photographer for The Jerusalem Post, documenting displaced families, wounded soldiers, and survivors of terror. Her photographic series October 7th: Bearing Witness has been exhibited internationally, including in Berlin, London, New York, and Miami. In 2024, her photograph Holy Work won the Photojournalistic Photograph of the Year award by Edut Mekumit, highlighting her talent for capturing resilience and humanity amidst crisis.
