Almaz Walks Down the Paths of Her Childhood

In this book, Almaz – who made Aliyah with her family from Ethiopia to Israel – recounts her childhood memories. Almaz; the village she grew up and her friends, through the eyes of a girl, and how he and her family left all that was familiar to come to Israel; a place they have dreamt of and called home, on one hand, but was also new and foreign to them, on the other. Using her memories, Almaz provides a glimpse into Ethiopian culture and, at the same time, childhood memories that every child can relate to. This book opens up a gateway to getting to know the culture and world of Ethiopian Jews, allowing educators who work with kids in various age groups towards acceptance of diversity.
