What does it mean to leave one home for another? Through food, memory, and hard-won wisdom, From Mac and Cheese to Matbucha chronicles Sherri Mandell's journey from America to Israel, exploring the recipes – both in the kitchen and in life – that tested her faith, nourished her soul, and transformed her understanding of identity and belonging.

Part memoir, part cookbook, it’s an honest, funny, and moving story you can taste – a book about yearning, adventure, and finally finding your place in the world.

Sherri Mandell is a certified pastoral counselor. She and her husband direct the Koby Mandell Foundation, which runs healing groups and camps for bereaved families and children in Israel. She lectures around the world on grief and resilience. Her previous books include The Road to Resilience: From Chaos to Celebration and The Blessing of a Broken Heart, for which she won the National Jewish Book Award in 2004.
