Simcha Raz is a well-known Israeli author and educator. He has an MA in public administration from Hebrew University and rabbinic ordination from Merkaz HaRav Kook Yeshivah in Jerusalem. He is the author of many popular books on aggadic and Hasidic themes, several of which have appeared in English translation, including A Tzaddik in Our Time (1972), Hasidic Wisdom: Sayings from the Jewish Sages (1997), and The Torah’s Seventy Faces (2005).
